  • The Low Blow Episode 161: Mopping up UFC 118
Subo joins me for just over an hour of MMA talk as we break down the UFC 118 card from the Spike prelims to the main event. We talk about BJ Penn being over-hyped, Frankie Edgar being under-hyped, and Nate Diaz pillow punching his way to another solid victory. On the side, we also bring up how Strikeforce is evil (but never in the way we want them to be) an […]
  • Fedor on SpikeTV?
Dana White says Fedor will be featured in the second season of Spike's PRIDE show. I'm not gonna hold my breath, but at least it's a more positive thing to hear from Dana regarding Fedor than what he was saying back in July: "You think I’m going to open the doors and say, come on in and try to compete with my business and do this and do […]
  • Dana White vs the Oxford Union
Everyone is having a good laugh at the idea of Dana Fucking White speaking to the Oxford Union Society during the leadup to UFC 120 in London. What, a foul mouthed Yankee involved with something that has the word Oxford in it? Poppycock! To try and put the situation in perspective, I turned to one of our resident Brits, Carcass, to tell me more about the si […]
  • Palhares puts being poor into perspective
With the way the economy is right now, I'm sure a lot of us are feeling the pinch. But before you start thinking of yourself as poor because you only have a few hundred bucks left over after the bills are paid, read Rousimar Palhares' story of what poverty is really like: "My childhood was a lot of work," Palhares recently told MMAjunkie […]
  • Bro.
Color me surprised: Less than a year after Dana White tweeted that Karo Parisyan would never fight again in the UFC, "The Heat" has been welcomed back to the organization and offered a fight against Dennis Hallman at UFC 123 in Auburn Hills, Mich. MMA Fighting confirmed the news with two sources close to the situation, as well as Parisyan himself […]
  • Which MMA card are looking forward to the most?
UFC Fight Night: Marquardt vs. Palhares WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan UFC 119: Mir vs. Cro Cop UFC 120: Bisping vs. Akiyama Strikeforce: San Jose UFC 121: Lesnar vs. Velasquez UFC 122: Belfort vs Okami UFC 123: Machida vs Jackson […]
  • Judo!
This is 8-0 prospect Rick Hawn using his Olympic-level judo on some poor fool in MMA. After the jump, a few of his throws from judo competitions. I can't see Rick pulling any of these off in MMA unless Dana White makes shirts mandatory for all Toney and Tuchscherer type fatasses, but they're pretty keen none the less. read more […]
  • Wand's whiskers
Because I just can't get enough of that dead animal hanging off Wanderlei's chin, here's a romo gallery for you over at TheGarv. […]
  • Fights!
Brett Rogers vs Ruben "Warpath" Villareal @ W-1 HalifaxStrikeforce has given Brett Rogers permission to fight for the W-1 promotion in Canada on October 23rd, but I have to imagine it was on the condition that he not face anyone with even a remote chance of beating him. How else can you explain the return of Warpath, who's literally made a liv […]
  • Roger Huerta confirms he kicked that dude's ass
Roger Huerta showed up on TMZ yesterday for 30 minutes of awkward live conversation about that girl-punching jackass he destoyed in Austin last month. While he spent a good amount of the show freezing up every time he realized he might say something potentially incriminating, he did managed to get this out: "I approached the man and said, "You don […]

Manto Presents: The Grappling Dummy – Nic Gregoriades

Manto Presents: The Grappling Dummy – Nic Gregoriades from martial farts on Vimeo.

Presented by Manto, Manto, Manto!

The next instalment of The Grappling Dummy!

In this episode, I talk to Nic Gregoriades, a black belt under Roger Gracie.

Nic was kind enough to come down to our gym and give a BJJ workshop, and give his time to make this video.

We talk about what it’s like to train with Roger Gracie, and about the Jiu Jitsu Brotherhood (an online BJJ community).

We also have a little roll while Nic shares his philosophies on jiu jitsu.

After that, Nic does something a little different and offers a “shadow grappling” routine. Something simple that you can practice when you don’t have a partner, that allows you to continue to work on your body skills.

Nic is a great guy and it was a pleasure to spend the day with him.

Please be sure to click on all the links I’ve provided here to keep this project going!

I was unashamedly inspired by E. Casey Leydon of All Elbows and MMA Fighting to edit this in black and white after his awesome Joe Rogan videos.

I hope you enjoy the video.

Many thanks to Fightlinker without whom The Grappling Dummy wouldn’t exist.

Lastly, Scramble!

Filmed at the GB Academy, July 2010.
